Ginger Snaps

Equipment

  • 1 cookie sheet
  • 1 mixing bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cups butter or shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • extra sugar for rolling in

Instructions
 

  • Cream butter and sugar.
  • Beat in egg and molasses.
  • Sift in dry ingredients. Blend well.
  • Form small balls and roll in sugar.
  • Bake 2 inches apart in 350 F oven for 10=12 minutes. Cool.
  • These cookies will flatten as they bake and look cracked on top.
