Prep Time 10 minutes
Course Dessert

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup salted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat Your Oven
  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). This step ensures your cookies bake evenly for that golden-brown perfection.
  • Cream Butter and Sugars
  • Using a stand mixer or electric hand mixer, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until the mixture is light and fluffy. This step is important for creating the cookie’s perfect texture.
  • Add Wet Ingredients
  • Scrape down the sides of your mixing bowl, then add the egg and vanilla extract. Mix until the ingredients are fully incorporated and the batter is smooth.
  • Incorporate Dry Ingredients
  • Gradually mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt. The dough should be soft but not sticky, holding together beautifully for scooping.
  • Fold in Chocolate Chips
  • Stir in your favorite chocolate chips, whether they're classic semi-sweet, rich dark chocolate, or even creamy milk chocolate. This is where you make these cookies your own!
  • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion out 1 1/2-tablespoon-sized mounds of dough onto your baking sheet. Line the sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easy cleanup. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges turn golden brown.
  • Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely—or enjoy warm for a gooey chocolate experience!
