Stay Safe in the Saddle
It is important to have your phone with you while riding. Put your phone in a cell phone case to protect it and keep it close to you. Carrying a phone while riding your horse is essential for safety and communication. Here are five ways to carry a phone when riding:
Crossbody Cell Phone Holder:
A crossbody phone holder is a pouch or bag that can be worn across your chest or over your shoulder. It allows you to keep your phone close without hindering movement. Ensure it’s designed for active use and can withstand the rigors of riding.
Cell Phone Case Armband:
Invest in a phone armband designed for sports activities. These typically have a secure strap that wraps around your arm, keeping the phone easily accessible and secure. Make sure it’s adjustable and snug to prevent bouncing during riding.
Neck Lanyard for Phone Holder:
Use a neck lanyard or holder designed for phones. This accessory typically consists of a pouch that hangs from a lanyard around your neck. The phone stays close to your chest, and the lanyard can be adjusted for a comfortable fit. Ensure it’s secure and won’t swing excessively during riding.
Saddle Bag for a Cell Phone:
There are many types of saddle bags on the market. This is personally my least favorite option. One of the main reasons I want to have my phone on me while riding is to call for help if I get hurt or thrown off. If the horse runs off and I can’t get to my phone, it will be of no use. I prefer one of the other suggestions which keeps my cell phone on me while riding. However, this might be the perfect option for you if you have a calm horse and you don’t need or like the phone on your body. There are small saddle bag or pouches that attach to the front of your saddle. Many stores offer saddlebags specifically designed for holding phones, keys, and other small essentials.
Riding Breeches with Pockets:
Some riding breeches come equipped with pockets designed to hold small items, including phones. Look for breeches with secure zippered pockets to prevent the phone from falling out during movement.
Cell Phone Case with Belt Clip:
Use a cell phone case that attaches to your belt. No more bulky cellphone in your pocket. Two loops and a clip keep your phone securely in place.
Cell Phone Case Conclusion
Remember to prioritize safety and comfort when choosing a method to carry your phone while riding. Whatever option you choose, make sure the phone is securely fastened to prevent it from falling or getting damaged during the ride. Choose the option that aligns with your personal preferences, the type of riding you do, and the level of security you need for your phone while on horseback.
I hope you found a way to keep your cell phone with you at all times when riding your horse. You never know when you might need to call for help for you or your horse. Stay safe out there!
